3D Printer

This is the 3D printer I built along side Zoe Bone and Naikipyeeha Hornedeagle. All together this project took us a couple weeks of bickering and fighting to put together. This has been my favorite project all year to work on, and I would love to do it again. The printer we built was a M605, and it cost the class $180 to get. To build this project, it came with a instruction guide and we watched a YouTube Video. Below, you can find a link to the video we used.

One of the best parts of this class was all of the drones I was able to purchase and fly. I have bought three drones for myself, and one as a gift for my dad. My favorite drone is the BWoop B-03. This is a small drone built for indoor flying. It is a great first drone to get and can be enjoyed by all ages. The other two drones I have are a Hubson Spyder and a UDI Freedom. These both are smaller drones, but do not work great for indoor flight. I also had the chance to fly several of our larger classroom drones such as a Sema X5.

Another big part of this class was designing websites. We used Weebly and Wix to design the websites and I personally enjoyed using Wix more than Weebly. It was easier to control and I understood it better. The one website I worked on with Weebley was our school website. I was put in charge of maintaining the cheer section. With Wix I created a blog to post about what I do in computer technology, and this portfolio.

One of the longest running projects I have worked on has been one of the easiest. This is the RetroPi. It was made using a Raspberry Pi 3. Once it is complete, it will act like any old gaming system such as NES or Atari. To make it I had to format the SD card with the programming. Then I bought a controller and had to set it up so the Raspberry Pi could use it. The last step is to download the games onto a flash drive and and put them on the SD card. This project has been the simplest, so I have worked on it rarely has a side project.

The Kuman Kit was a great project that helped to teach me about basic electrical wiring and programming. This kit comes with an assortment of parts that you can put together and program. Some of the projects I have created were; a LCD display, led lights, a buzzer that plays music, motion detector, and a light sensor. Each of these have their own circuits, parts, and coding. This kit comes with a PDF tutorial or you can follow YouTube videos. I have found that the videos were much easier to follow and made it seem simpler than it really was. There are many different kinds of Kuman Kits to buy. The one I worked with cost around $30.
